One of the communities we work with is located in Quipile, Cundinamarca, a few hours from Bogota. In the local indigenous language, Quipile \u201cstrong and superior place\u201d.<\/p>\n

Blessed with the Apulo River and an average temperature of 20C, this region is perfect for panela production and also produces some of the best coffee and plantain.<\/p>\n

The goal of our project is to support 100 artisanal panela production facilities (trapiches) and over 300 producers by selling their panela. They bring their liquid panela to a local facility that transforms it into the highest quality consumer-ready panela.<\/p>\n

Organoleptic characteristics:<\/p>\n

Panela from Quipile has a light brown color, caramel-flavored under notes with a sweet aroma and a soft, fluffy texture as it melts in your mouth.<\/p>\n
